Morocco boasts stunning diversity, from its Atlantic coastlines and snow-capped mountains to its Sahara Desert and vibrant cities. On this 7 Days in Morocco tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, you'll experience some of the best that Morocco has to offer, from the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen to the vast Sahara Desert. Starting our journey from Casablanca, we'll head to Chefchaouen, making short stops at some of Rabat’s most famous monuments along the way. Once in Chefchaouen, you'll explore the Medina, an authentic Moroccan market where you can find everything from spices to souvenirs. Finally, you'll spend the night in a traditional Riad.
On the second day of our tour, you'll have a free day to explore Chefchaouen, famously known as the blue city. The charming blue-painted alleys and buildings are a sight to behold, with many highlights to discover including the Stalk, the Akshour Falls, the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum, and the Utah Lhmam Square. You'll also want to explore the lively Al-Swaiqa District, which is the vibrant city center. For the night, we'll stay in a traditional Riad, a Moroccan guesthouse. It's a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture and cuisine.
After breakfast at your riad, we'll begin our journey to Fes via Ouazzan and the Roman site of Volubilis. The drive will take a couple of hours, giving you the opportunity to see some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco. Volubilis was once a thriving city of the Roman Empire, and its wealth is evident in the beautiful mosaics that can still be seen there today. After exploring Volubilis, we'll proceed to Meknes. Meknes, once the capital of Morocco under Ismaili rule, boasts many notable buildings like the Bab Mansour gate and the Sahrij Souani granary. Following our tour of Meknes, we'll finally arrive in Fes, where we'll spend the rest of the day exploring this ancient city. Then, we'll continue via the highway to Fes, where we'll stay overnight.
Fes is often called the "spiritual city" of Morocco, and it's easy to understand why. The Medina, or old city, is a maze of narrow streets and alleyways, filled with numerous mosques, madrasas, and other religious sites. The Al Karaouine Mosque and University is perhaps the most famous among them, being the oldest university in the world. Other notable attractions include the Madrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain. After exploring the Medina in the morning, we'll enjoy lunch before venturing outside the city walls to visit the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter (Mellah), and the pottery cooperative. This tour offers a comprehensive overview of all that Fes has to offer, both culturally and historically. Finally, we'll return to the same riad for an overnight stay.
Today, we'll head south towards the Merzouga Sahara desert, passing through Midelt and Errachidia. Our first stop on this 7 Days tour from Casablanca will be in Ifrane city, often referred to as "the Switzerland of Morocco". On our way to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley, you'll catch glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. We'll pause at the famous cedar forest, the largest one in Morocco, where you might spot the Barbary apes. As we continue south, you'll notice the landscape changing, gradually revealing hints of the desert as we approach Er Rachidia. The further we travel, the more pronounced these changes will become until we find ourselves in the arid landscape of sand dunes and rocky plateaus - the famed Merzouga desert, our final destination on this incredible journey through Morocco. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of mint tea and then transported on camelback to witness the sunset from Morocco's highest sand dunes. Later, you'll spend the night at our well-equipped desert camp, where you can enjoy dinner with friends or family before gathering around an open fire for bedtime stories.
