    Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz

The adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. The journey follows the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), the highest mountain pass in Morocco, offering breathtaking views of the valleys and Berber villages. Along the way, there are stops for photographs and visits to small mountain villages.

A visit to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, provides insight into Morocco’s rich history. This famous ksar, with its earthen clay architecture, has been featured in numerous films and TV series such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Continuing through Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” there’s an optional visit to the Atlas Film Studios or the Kasbah Taourirt, a beautifully preserved fortress.

The journey proceeds south, crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains and descending into the lush Draa Valley, famous for its thousands of date palms. The road leads to Agdz, a charming oasis town where the night is spent in a traditional riad.

Day 2: Agdz – Nkob – Afnif – Tafraoute Sidi Ali

After breakfast, the journey continues deeper into Morocco’s wild landscapes. The road passes through the Draa Valley, where traditional Berber villages and vast palm groves stretch for miles.

A stop in Nkob, a picturesque village known for its 45 kasbahs, provides a glimpse into local life. This is a perfect place for a traditional Moroccan tea break while enjoying panoramic views of the valley.

The drive then heads towards Afnif, passing through semi-desert landscapes dotted with acacia trees. This is an off-the-beaten-path route, where the scenery changes dramatically from green oases to arid, rocky plains.

The day ends in Tafraoute Sidi Ali, a remote desert village where the silence of the Sahara is truly felt. This is an opportunity to experience the simplicity of Berber life in an authentic setting.

Day 3: Tafraoute Sidi Ali – Ramlia – Merzouga Desert (Luxury Camp Experience)

The adventure continues into the Sahara, passing through Ramlia, a small village surrounded by vast desert plateaus and towering sand dunes. This part of the journey follows ancient trade routes, once used by caravans traveling between Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa.

Arriving in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, the experience transforms into a true desert adventure. A camel trek leads into the golden dunes, where the colors of the sand shift with the setting sun.

The night is spent in a luxury desert camp, offering private tents with comfortable bedding and modern amenities. A traditional Moroccan dinner is served under the stars, followed by live Berber music around a campfire

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

An early wake-up rewards travelers with a stunning Sahara sunrise, followed by breakfast at the camp. The journey then continues to Rissani, a historic town known for its bustling souk and connection to the ancient Alaouite dynasty. A visit to a traditional Berber market offers a glimpse into local trade and customs.

The next stop is Tinghir, an oasis town set against dramatic cliffs. The highlight here is the Todra Gorges, a natural wonder with towering rock walls reaching up to 300 meters. There is time for a short walk through the canyon, offering stunning views and a chance to meet local climbers and nomadic families.

The road then follows the scenic Dades Valley, often called the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Along the way, unique rock formations known as “Monkey Fingers” can be seen, shaped by centuries of wind and water erosion. The night is spent in a beautiful hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

The final day begins with a drive through the Dades Valley, following the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” The journey continues back towards Ouarzazate, where there is an optional stop at the Kasbah Taourirt or the Cinema Museum, showcasing the city’s long-standing film industry.

Crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass once again, the route descends into the vibrant city of Marrakech, marking the end of an unforgettable desert adventure.

Drop-off at the hotel or riad in Marrakech, with free time to explore the lively medina, relax in a traditional hammam, or enjoy a farewell dinner at a rooftop restaurant.
