Today, we’ll head south towards the Merzouga Sahara desert, passing through Midelt and Errachidia. Our first stop on this 7 Days tour from Casablanca will be in Ifrane city, often referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. On our way to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley, you’ll catch glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. We’ll pause at the famous cedar forest, the largest one in Morocco, where you might spot the Barbary apes. As we continue south, you’ll notice the landscape changing, gradually revealing hints of the desert as we approach Er Rachidia. The further we travel, the more pronounced these changes will become until we find ourselves in the arid landscape of sand dunes and rocky plateaus – the famed Merzouga desert, our final destination on this incredible journey through Morocco. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of mint tea and then transported on camelback to witness the sunset from Morocco’s highest sand dunes. Later, you’ll spend the night at our well-equipped desert camp, where you can enjoy dinner with friends or family before gathering around an open fire for bedtime stories.
